Lay out your piece of fabric.
The way you fold the fabric is important so you end up with a little bodice that is almost done after making a few cuts with the scissors.
Make the first fold as shown by bringing the top edge to the bottome edge.

Your piece of fabric should look like this after the first fold To make the second fold bring the left edge to the right edge.
Your folded fabric should measure 4 1/2" wide x 3 1/4 " long.
Lay the pattern on your folded fabric.
Trace the pattern along the edges and the neck edge
You should have folds on the top and left side. Now you are ready to cut along the lines you traced

Cut along the traced lines. You are cutting through several layers so you will need good scissors. The bodice should look like this when you are done cutting. Unfold it and voila your bodice is almost done.
Cut what will be the center back seam so your bodice looks like the above picture.

Note: This cut could also be the center front if you are making a jacket or blouse with a front opening. That's the beauty of this pattern, it gives you the designer a great starting off point for an original one-of-a-kind dress.
